I know I’m the only NYC resident who actually wanted us to win our 2012 Olympic bid. I know it would be insanely crowded, impossible to get around, a waste of money, and leave us with giant stadiums that we don’t need. But I think people underestimate NYC’s ability to rally together and make the impossible happen. Or at least get through it with a lot of witty pun-based grumbling and novelty twitter accounts.
And did you see the fireworks go off behind the Statue of Liberty? It would be the epic-est thing that ever epic-ed. And I could spend every night trying to sneak into the Olympic Village…
I stand by my assertion this is one of the worst ideas ever. You expect them to build and reclaim and remodel all of this crap in six years when it’s going to take them 10+ years to do Phase I of the Second Avenue subway???
