MY HEART’S ON FIRE - Passenger
Well, I don’t have many, and I don’t have much.
In fact I don’t have any, but I’ve got enough.
‘Cause I know those eyes, and I know that touch.
I don’t have many, and I don’t have much.
But oh, Darling, my heart’s on fire
Recently became obsessed with Passenger after hearing a song on an episode of Elementary. Every song is so beautiful. I’ve been listening to this one on repeat while I work on Sequel.
HAWKS AND DOVES- Neil Young
Ain’t getting old,
ain’t getting younger though
Just getting used
to the lay of the land
I ain’t tongue-tied,
just don’t got nothin’ to say
I’m proud to be livin’ in the U.S.A.
This song has A LOT of (ironic) relevance to Sequel…
AMERICAN LAND- Bruce Springsteen
What is this land of America, so many travel there
I’m going now while I’m still young, my darling meet me there
Wish me luck my lovely, I’ll send for you when I can
And we’ll make our home in the American land
One of the characters in Sequel is a little obsessed with Springsteen, so I’ve been listening to a lot of him as I’ve been writing. I’m pretty taken with Wrecking Ball in general, but some of his older stuff, man. So good.
THE HARD WAY HOME -Brandi Carlile
I could be the engine, you could be the wheel
When we’re driving home, I never have to worry about being alone
Love this song so much. SO much.
Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
If we do not get approved for this apartment, I will probably cry. Or at least rage silently tomorrow in my cube, and then go buy a cupcake.
Sweet Thing - Van Morrison
We shall walk and talk
In gardens all misty and wet with rain
And I will never, never, never
Grow so old again
Promontory - The Last of the Mohicans (Original Motion Picture Score)
This soundtrack is so, so, SO incredible.
